Shanghai/Vienna, 10 April 2016. Vienna enlightens Shanghai: KOLARZ, the leading Austrian lighting company, has installed stunning handmade ceiling, wall and hanging lamps at the Shanghai Tower, China’s highest skyscraper and the second highest building in the world.
SPARKLING MURANO GLASS AND FUTURISTIC DESIGN
In the Shanghai Tower’s ballroom, 25,000 sparkling Murano glass sticks, measuring about two metres in length, decorate 14 ceiling lamps, each of them five metres in diametre and weighing eight tons. Futuristic, spaceship-like objects enlighten the tower’s largest multifunction room: 32 chrome-fibreglass pendants, also purely handmade by KOLARZ.
